West Loop Classes-Grades K to 2

Chicago Children’s Theatre’s classes for students in Grades K-2 engage their boundless creativity and encourage the practice of collaboration, both onstage and off. In our Acting Adventures series, young artists will create thrilling stories, tenacious characters, and nail-biting conflicts with the guidance and mentorship of professional theatre artists.

Acting Adventures: Myths & Legends | Fall 2022

Grades 1-2
Mondays, 5:00-6:00 PM CST at Chicago Children's Theatre (100 S Racine)

No class 10/10 for Indigenous People's Day & 11/21 for Thanksgiving

$212.50 thru 7/31, then $250 | 10 sessions

Through theatrical explorations of myths and legends, you will move, act, and play, all while building skills for connection, collaboration, and creativity. The last day of class will culminate in the opening (and closing) of an original story created right in your classroom!

Yeehaw, copokes! Act, move, and round up some cattle in this lively theatre class for young performers! Through movement-based drama activities, creative play, and dance, you will build confidence in expressing your creative side, while expanding social and motor skills. On the last day of class we will share some of our favorite parts of class with families!

Have you ever wanted to travel around the world without leaving the city? No need for an airplane in this class, just stories and imagination! Through theatrical explorations of stories from around the world, students will move, act, and play, all while building skills for connection, collaboration, and creativity. The last day of class will culminate in the opening (and closing) of an original story created right in your classroom!

Improv Adventures: Comedy, Characters, & Physical Storytelling| Fall 2022
Runs Oct 4 - Dec 13, 2022

Grades 1-2
Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00 PM CST at Chicago Children's Theatre (100 S Racine)

No class 11/22 for Thanksgiving break.

$212.50 thru 7/31, then $250 | 10 sessions

Get ready to shake out the nerves and take the stage as a confident and collaborative performer! Improvisation will embolden you to become an un-scripted storyteller through theatre games, character creation activities, and comedic physical storytelling. On the last day, the West Loop's newest improv troupe will host their own mini-improv show right in your classroom!
