Chicago Children’s Theatre’s classes for students in Grades 6-8 challenge young artists to tell stories from their own experiences and from the world around them. In classes exploring multimedia, film, devising, and advanced acting, young artists build artistic and life-learning skills to engage with art, media, and their world thoughtfully and critically. Each session features a mini performance for friends and family on the final day of class!

Designed for young people on the autism spectrum, this lively musical theatre workshop will encourage you to find the music within you! You’ll build confidence in your vocal abilities, learn basic dance steps and original choreography, and act your heart out to beloved musical theatre songs. In the final workshop, you’ll perform a mini musical theatre showcase right in your classroom!

Are you ready to take your acting game to the next level? In this advanced acting class, you’ll take a deep dive into scenework, practicing scene study techniques that professional actors use. You'll be identifying given circumstances, making motivated character choices, and blocking your own scenes like a seasoned performer in no time. The last day of class will culminate in a scene showcase performed right in your classroom!
