Catherine Councell

Catherine “CC” Councell (she/her) is an actor, teaching artist, and certified Muscle Music Nervous System & the Artist Coach. She holds her Master of Fine Arts in Performance Arts from the University of Iowa, and her BFA in Performance Arts from Brenau University. She is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Nervous System & the Artist, and in Trauma-conscious consent-based practices for the classroom/stage with Theatrical Intimacy Educators. Catherine has been a Teaching Artist since 2012 and has taught with professional theater companies and university programs in Georgia, Iowa, and Illinois. Hired as a Teaching Artist in 2022 by CCT she has taught Bubble Jams, Story Jams, Storyhoppers, Red Kite Drama Time, Improv, Comedy, Musical Theater, Devising, Teen Acting Lab, R.O.A.R, Mother Goose with Natalie Merchant, Camps and more. In her classrooms she is happiest when she co-creates courageous, community driven, silly spaces. Catherine has been a cast member of the Red Kite Green Mountain Friendship Tour since 2023, and part of the CCT staff as the R.O.A.R. and Curriculum Development Associate since 2024.
