Apprenticeships
Chicago Children’s Theatre is looking for college students and young adults ages 20-24 to join our summer camp team as Apprentices! Apprentices will gain work experience in arts education by directly working with children and teaching artists every day. Additionally, they will set goals and become aware of their growth throughout the summer, all while meeting professional educators and artists in the industry through their work at Chicago Children’s Theatre.

For Teaching Artists
2025 Red Kite Summer Training Program for Teaching Artists of Color
Chicago Children’s Theatre seeks applicants for the 2025 Red Kite Summer Training Program in Accessible Arts Classroom Practices for Teaching Artists of Color as part of its Education & Access programming. The training program will unite a cohort of teaching artists of color for a series of paid accessibility and disability inclusion trainings. This unique professional development program will culminate in Camp Red Kite in July and August, where Summer Training Program participants will assist and observe experienced Red Kite teaching artists throughout camp.

Chicago Children’s Theatre will hold yearly AEA and Non-AEA General Auditions each Spring. Notices for General Auditions will be posted on the AEA website, and other audition notice boards. If you would like to submit your materials for a specific production or project, email your Headshot and Resume to casting@chicagochildrenstheatre.org. Please submit:
- your headshot (.jpg preferred)
- resume (.pdf)
Send as separate files titled in this format: Last Name, First Name – Headshot (DATE) & Last Name, First Name – Resume (DATE)
For Designers & Technical Staff
Email your resume and a link to your portfolio to Will Bishop, Director of Production, at wbishop@chicagochildrenstheatre.org. It is helpful for portfolios to show both production photos and process photos (i.e. models, plots, renderings, elevations, cues, etc).
