Matthew Shimmel is a Chicago-based filmmaker, whose work has been screened at several festivals and featured on the documentary website Media Burn. He studied Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Documentary Production. Since then, he’s worked as a freelance videographer and editor for a variety of projects, including the National Endowment for the Arts-funded documentary Punch 9: For Harold Washington.
