Lexi Saunders

Lexi Saunders (she/her) is a director, writer, performer, and teaching artist originally from Los Angeles with a BA in Theatre from UC San Diego. She currently teaches Drama Time for CCT’s Red Kite Project, storytelling at 2nd Story, acting for Mudlark and TimeLine Theatre’s Living History program, playwriting for Silk Road Rising’s EPIC program, performance art and movement at Camp Bravo, Shakespeare for femme and nonbinary youth at The Viola Project, and facilitates performances and workshops with About Face’s touring LGBTQ+ Outreach Ensemble. As a director, Lexi has worked with Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, American Blues, About Face, Steep, The Gift, Jackalope, Haven, Jedlicka PAC, (re)discover, Mudlark, Chicago Dramatists, 2nd Story, and Pride Films & Plays. She is an Artistic Associate at About Face Theatre, and was selected for Victory Gardens’ 2016 Directors Inclusion Initiative and Haven Theatre’s 2017 Directors Haven. In both her art and teaching practice, Lexi is passionate about lifting voices of youth and marginalized communities by building engagement, collaboration, vulnerability, empathy, imagination, and empowerment.
