Chicago Children’s Theatre Classroom Residencies
Whether at the theatre or in the classroom, Chicago Children’s Theatre is committed to creating a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive experience for everyone.
As a rising national leader in access and inclusion education programming, a Chicago Children’s Theatre Classroom Residency offers educators the tools and resources to address some of the most pressing issues facing young people today.
The latest CCT Classroom Residency focuses on the themes of tolerance, acceptance, and courage, working within a framework of a shared project.
Over an 8 week session teaching artists will work closely with students on a custom project, helping them to share their experiences and address challenges, providing a platform for engagement with students in an open, inclusive, and safe environment.
The robust curricula will focus on topics including:
- Productive Communication
- Civic Engagement
- Shared connections and overcoming perceptions
- Inclusivity in the classroom and beyond
- Allowing for self-reflection
- Celebrating differences
